British MotoGP

Great Britain

Until recently England was generally thought of as a gentle, fabled land freeze-framed sometime in the 1930s, home of the post office, country pub and vicarage.

It's now better known for vibrant cities with great nightlife and attractions, contrasted with green and pleasant countryside.

British MotoGP circuit

Date: 22 June 2008
Venue: Donington
Track length: 4023m
Laps: 30
Race length: 120.690km
2007 winner: Casey Stoner (Ducati)

Donington is regarded as a circuit of two halves; a technical series of sweeping bends and rises and dips followed by a series of short straights separated by slow corners. The Craner Curves provide one of the best viewing spots on the circuit as the riders sweep down from Redgate through the Curves before the old hairpin and then rising up to McLean's; this fast stretch usually sorts the men from the boys.
