Germany MotoGP circuit

Date: 13 July 2008
Venue: Sachsenring
Track length: 3671m
Laps: 30
Race length: 110.130km
2007 winner: Daniel Pedrosa (Honda)

At just over 110km, the German GP is the shortest race on the MotoGP calendar held on one of the shortest circuits. The reasoning behind the distance is that the average lap speed is one of the slowest in the Championship and so the number of laps is reduced accordingly. The Sachsenring has two distinct parts; the first is tight and twisty before riders pick up the speed dramatically and it is here where riders need to ensure they make no mistakes through the corners if they want to set a fast lap time.
