Germany’s Sebastian Vettel won the rain-drenched Chinese Grand Prix giving the Red Bull Racing team their first Formula One victory at the Shanghai International Circuit on April 19, 2009 in Shanghai, China.
The 21-year-old Vettel, who became the youngest winner last season claimed the second victory of his career ahead of teammate Mark Webber to secure a 1-2 finish for the team. Jenson Button finished third ahead of Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello. With the rain pouring down from start to finish, Vettel dominated the field resisting all challenges as he swept home through treacherous conditions.
